Dear JHS 185 Students, Guardians, and Families,
Good day and I hope you are having a great Friday morning!
I am writing to share an important and unique opportunity for our school community:
New York City Public Schools’ Office of District Planning will be hosting a College Point Town Hall to share information and gather family feedback about a new high school anticipated to open in College Point in September 2028.
This new school is expected to serve grades 9–12 and is anticipated to use the building adjacent to M.S. 379 College Point Collaborative. This town hall is a unique opportunity for families to help shape the future of high school options in our community. The planning for a new high school will impact students, families, and the College Point neighborhood for many years to come.
Students are strongly encouraged to attend and participate in this process; please note that students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
